Film Synopsis

1878 – As lay witness thru the innocent eyes of his granddaughter, Walter Johnson, an aged small town Sheriff flounders in the duties of his tin star following an unduly acquainting with a band of outlaws. So begins a families voyeuristic journey as they stand by his side, hands tied, as each’s husband, father, grandpa begins his own personal journey – one guided by the otherworldly reins of dementia, dooming him towards a declining horizon while shedding the wisdom & knowledge of his being along the way.

1880 – Christmas time. A fresh snowfall blankets the outside while inside the Johnson family cabin a wood stove exudes warmth. Family has come together, the brothers discuss the business of the tin star, and Barbara – wife, mother, grandma has been given a much needed day off from her caregiving duties by her granddaughter & daughter-in-law. Hovering though, is the dim glow resting in Walter’s eyes as he sits in silence, simply observing. Yet these eyes, these eyes of curiosity carry a story which could make this a most memorable Christmas.

1881 – A family united, bedside to Walter. The internal. The external. Walter can’t quite put a finger on which is reality on his approaching quest for peace.
