Theodore Carl Flood

Born in 1973, Carl grew up in Oklahoma. He credits his love of movies back to his childhood where he was allowed to ride his bicycle to the small town movie theater and see such films as: “The Goonies”, “Stand By Me”, and “Back to the Future” when they were first released. In 2000 he began working on film productions in Oklahoma City as a lighting technician. His first short film, “Superhero”, a 16mm black & white film about a man who finds inspiration from a cape, won an Honorable Mention at the OKFilm Indie 2001 film festival in Tulsa, Okla. In 2004 he moved to Los Angeles to further his career as a filmmaker. Continuing his work as a lighting technician, he soon found himself working on the major studio lots as a member of the I.A.T.S.E. Local 728 Set Lighting technicians Union. He has studied acting at the Howard Fine Acting Studio in Hollywood, and received his BFA in Cinema at Columbia College Hollywood in 2010.

He is a sucker for film history, westerns, and classical cinema. The films that inspired him to be a filmmaker are: “The Last Picture Show” and “Paper Moon”, both directed by Peter Bogdanovich. His greatest film influences include Budd Boetticher, John Ford, Jim Jarmusch, Clint Eastwood, and all those who kicked up dust inspired by the old west.
